So I am sure many of you have already began celebrating the holiday season – putting up decorations, listening to Christmas music, checking off your shopping list (HOW do you do it, people? Maniacs I tell ya.)
Although I have been surrounded by Christmas decorations on a daily basis at work since, oh before Halloween, I am well aware of the time of year. Growing up, we never decorated until after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade, but the rest of America just can’t seem to wait that long.
Do you find yourself griping about this like I do? “Oh I can’t believe they are putting up decorations already. Heaven’s sake I can’t believe it’s Christmas time!” I am so turning into the little old ladies I used to look at with puzzlement.
On my day off, all I wanted to do was buy garland and lights and silly little knick knacks and straight up Christmas my house. Normally, Chase would have been my friend to help with me with that. Now, we all know better.
So in the spirit of not rushing things, I am going to get the holiday season started just a week earlier than normal by attending Light Up Night in Pittsburgh.
Now for those who have never been here, this city is beautiful. Seriously. It’s not just because I am bias.
And when it comes to the holiday season, we do some pretty sweet decorating.
And we always have the coolest fireworks. For realz.
After giving this City five years of my life, I have never been to Light Up Night! (I think I was always either working or home on break – go figure.) I am very excited!! Pics to come this weekend!
How do you celebrate the holidays? Are you one of the people who has their tree up Nov. 1 or do you wait until December?

We never put our tree up until after Thanksgiving, Sometimes way after. However our Christmas cards are all ready to be mailed. Uncle David has a thing about mailing Christmas cards early, so look for yours soon.
The pix of Pittsburgh look great. The city has really changed in the last decades.
To answer your question, Emily decided that we should take a short cruise before Christmas and then hurry back to Florida for Christmas day since we have no little kids to prepare for or entertain.
Pretty smart on her part…free cruise for Emily!

Ooh man, I wish I would have thought of that! I still have never been on a cruise – maybe next time you can adopt a second daughter to tag along?
